This is, without question, one of the most over-the-top family hotels we’ve ever experienced. Set deep in the Bavarian Forest, Ulrichshof is built entirely around kids while still feeling like a true retreat for parents. It’s the kind of place where families can fully settle in for several nights, knowing everything is handled on site and boredom is simply not an option.
For kids, Ulrichshof is pure magic. There are multiple floors of indoor play zones, epic outdoor playgrounds, climbing areas, trampolines, bumper cars, bowling, and even mini Land Rovers they can drive around the property. Add in a pirate ship water playground, giant water slides, riding stables with pony rides, forest scavenger hunts, art studios, sensory play, a movie theatre, and a Western saloon complete with a mechanical bull, and you start to understand why kids never want to leave. The real standout for parents is the unlimited daily childcare from morning to evening, with drop-off programming like fairy house building, kids cooking classes, and hands-on time at the stables.
Parents benefit just as much as kids do here. Meals are all-inclusive, with beer and wine included, accommodations are spacious and thoughtfully designed for families with bunk beds and baby amenities, and the adult spa is genuinely beautiful. Located in the heart of nature, the setting encourages slower days and outdoor time, without requiring any planning or driving once you arrive. This is a destination stay in every sense and one that makes traveling with kids feel not just easy, but indulgent.
