If you are searching for the best family friendly hotels in 2025, this list will help you plan your next trip with confidence. We travelled all over the world this year with our two young kids and stayed at a wide mix of luxury resorts, boutique nature hotels, and family focused properties. After all of it, these were the hotels that completely exceeded our expectations and became our favourites of the entire year.

These hotels stood out because they understood how families actually travel. Spacious rooms that work for kids. Fun activities that do not require extra planning. Great food options. Warm pools. Safe play spaces. Easy access to attractions. And thoughtful touches that made travelling with young children feel smooth instead of stressful.

ULRICHSHOF Nature & Family Hotel, Germany

This is hands down the most insane family hotel we’ve ever stayed at! Located in the heart of the Bavarian Forest in Germany, ULRICHSHOF Nature & Family Hotel is an asbolute paradise for kids and parents. We could not believe everything that this place offers, including:

  • mini land rovers to drive around the property
  • a bowling alley

Warner Bros Hotel Abu Dhabi

One of the most memorable stays this year was at the world’s first Warner Bros. Hotel in Abu Dhabi, where there are TONS of character interactions throughout the hotel including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tom & Jerry, Robin, and Starfire. You can also get Bugs Bunny to deliver milk and cookies room service, watch Harry Potter movies while swimming in the heated pool, or drop the kids off at the amazing kids club while you go up to the rooftop infinity pool for some spectacular views, live music and cocktails.

The highlight of staying at the WB Hotel is undoubtedly experiencing all that Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi has to offer, which is located directly beside the hotel. It is the world’s largest indoor theme park, where you can explore 6 immersive lands! You can hang with Looney Tunes, ride through Bedrock with the Flintstones, and fight villains with Batman in Gotham City. The best part was how shockingly uncrowded it was!!! And a Harry Potter is coming soon.

JW Marriott Venice

Venice is one of the most MAGICAL and must-see destinations in the world. Buuuuuut it can be tricky with kids — it gets crowded, hot in the high season, and there’s a lot of bridges to manage with little legs and strollers. Staying at the JW Marriott Venice though made all the difference as a family.

Set on its own private island, the JW Marriott Venice gives you the best of both worlds: all the beauty of Venice, plus a great kids’ club, pool to cool off in, and space for the whole family to recharge.

Our days looked like this …. We’d start with an early breakfast at the hotel, then take the free shuttle boat into Venice while it was still quiet. After a morning of exploring, we’d escape the heat and crowds, my son would head off to soccer camp coached by World Cup champs and our daughter to the Lego themed kids club, while we snuck in some spa or work time. We’d all meet back at the family pool in the late afternoon, then head into Venice again for a golden hour stroll and Aperol spritz.

For the kids, there were SO many other perks too: welcome gifts, children’s menus, ice cream carts, outdoor movie nights, a splash pad, and a playground.

And I know it’s Italy so the food is already great, but dining here was amazing. From the rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of Venice to the in-house pizzeria the kids loved. Venice is unforgettable, but JW Marriott takes it to another level.

The Westin London City

Finding a kid-friendly hotel in a big city like London is so hard, but the The Westin London City nailed it. It is one of the most kid-friendly hotels we’ve stayed at in a major city and truly met the balance of luxury for parents and fun for kids.

The kids were greeted with activity books, a scavenger hunt around the hotel, and a giant basket of stuffed animals to pick a prize from at the end. They even got a polaroid camera to borrow and postcards to send home. There’s a cute kids’ corner in the lobby and free scooters and helmets to borrow, which we used to explore along the River Thames right outside the hotel, which was a really cool experience.

The pool is beautiful, warm, and kid-approved after a long flight. But the best part is that it’s located right beside the spa so parents can sneak in a massage while the kids swim. My husband and I took turns watching the kids in the pool and this was an amazing decision for beating jet lag on arrival.

My picky eaters devoured the breakfast buffet and I loved the unlimited flat whites and fresh green juice. The hotel restaurant also has a fantastic kids menu with make-your-own pizzas, milkshakes, and colouring pages.

Also being a Marriott property, you can use your Bonvoy points to book, which is always a HUGE perk. Lastly, the location is incredible as it’s directly on the River Thames and beside Millennium Bridge, Borough Market and close to all the sights in London.

Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort, Abu Dhabi

Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara is actual Aladdin vibes in the middle of the Abu Dhabi desert. Built by the royal family, this kid-friendly luxury resort feels like a real-life mirage.

From the moment we arrived, every single detail was MAGIC! Our kids haven’t stopped talking about it a year later … and neither have we. Here’s what makes this place so special for families and 100% worth the splurge.

Kid-Friendly Highlights:

  • Welcome gifts for the kids and popsicles on arrival
  • Beautiful kids club with daily activities
  • Kids pools with a splash pad
  • Babysitters so us parents could sneak off for dinner
  • Amazing breakfast buffet with a kids play area
  • All the in-room baby gear you could need: play tents, mini robes, bottle sterilizer, baby bathtub

  • Falcon and Saluki dog show
  • Dune buggy tours for all ages

The Fontenay, Hamburg

Hamburg has to be one of the coolest and most underrated cities in Europe. Like, who knew it has more bridges than Amsterdam and Venice combined? And The Fontenay hotel was the perfect base to explore it with kids.

The Fontenay is one of the most architecturally unique hotels we’ve been too with all sorts of curves, glass, light, fresh flowers - it’s absolutely stunning and every single room has a view. Our family suite had bright adjoining rooms, champagne and local treats waiting, and the fanciest high-tech shower I’ve ever seen.

They also had everything for kids: crib, bottle warmer, baby bathtub, kids’ toiletries, colouring sheets, mini robes and slippers, and even stuffed animals. And the indoor/outdoor heated rooftop pool overlooking Lake Alster was incredible. The kids borrowed pool noodles and floaties, while we soaked in the views.

And the food was also next level. Breakfast had an endless yogurt and granola bar that we all loved, while dinner was a very elevated experience for us parents, yet still had a a legit kids’ menu, Hamburg landmark colouring sheets, and the freedom to go run on the lawn and play frisbee when they got restless.

Our favourite part though was that the Fontenay had brand new e-cargo bikes for us to use, which made it so much easier and more fun to explore the city with kids. This was the highlight of our time in Hamburg!

But what really blew us away was the service. My daughter managed to get sick and hurt not once but three times during our stay. The staff delivered medicine in the middle of the night, arranged a doctor, picked up prescriptions, and even surprised her with a get-well package of toys and treats. They made us feel so cared for and I’ve never quite experienced this level of hospitality.

Calcot & Spa, Cotswolds UK

Calcot & Spa in the Cotswolds (just 1.5 hours away from London) is the kind of family stay that you’ll remember forever. Everything felt easy with kids, without losing that cozy English countryside charm.

We stayed in a cottage with a separate bunk room for the kids and the dreamiest upstairs bathroom that had two bathtubs side by side with a TV in between. They had Usborne books, bath toys, tiny robes, gingerbread cookies waiting on the beds… and even a Toniebox with a menu of characters kids could choose from and a VCR with stack of classic kid-friendly DVDs to choose from. Love the nostalgia!

And when it comes to kids, this is where Calcot really shines. Four hours of included childcare every day at The Playbarn (wall-to-wall toys, crafts, and games, plus a teen lounge with video games and foosball). Outside, there’s a giant teepee in the wildflower meadow filled with toys and games, a cool outdoor playground, mud kitchen and enclosed toddler area, and bikes to borrow. Your stay also includes a daily Kids Tea at 5pm, with a full healthy snack butter and a made-to-order menu with classic faves like pizza and burgers.

For parents, dinner at The Brasserie was one of our best meals of the trip (don’t skip the cheese soufflé - I ordered it two nights in a row). And you can borrow a baby monitor + tablet from the front desk so you can actually enjoy dinner kid-free! And while the kids are happily occupied at The Playbarn, parents also have The Grain Store - a gorgeous wellness space with a swanky gym, fitness classes, smoothies, and an indoor heated pool (which also has a daily family splash time).
