Looking for fun things to do with kids near Toronto ? Just a short drive from the city, Mississauga has some of the COOLEST indoor activities for kids! I'm talking epic indoor playgrounds, glow-in-the-dark mini golf, and even a place where you can literally throw paint everywhere.

As a mom who's always hunting for fun activities with my two little wildlings, I’ve done a lot of exploring and rounded up this list of the best things to do with kids in Mississauga. All of these spots are just minutes from Toronto, parking is usually free, and they're all indoors (which means weather-proof - I write this during one of the most epic snowstorms Toronto has had in a long time).

I've tested all these places with my own kids (ages 3 and 6), and let me tell you, they've given each one their very enthusiastic seal of approval.

HUB Climbing – Indoor Rock Climbing for Kids

If your kids love to climb (or climb your walls at home), they'll have a blast at HUB Climbing. Located right beside SkyZone, this place takes indoor rock climbing to the next level with themed walls, fun challenges, and even a giant beanstalk to scale.

Before you visit though, there are some important details to know: kids need to be at least 4 years old AND weigh at least 35 pounds - this isn't flexible because it's required for the auto belay safety equipment to work properly. You'll also need to fill out a whole bunch of waivers (I recommend doing these all ahead of time online as they can take a little while) and bring ID / health cards for everyone in your group, including the kids. They're pretty strict on all of this, but for good reason as they take safety very seriously here.

Once you're checked in, the staff will get everyone fitted in harnesses and show parents how to work the auto-belay system (basically a smart pulley that safely lowers climbers down). The climbing walls are super creative - kids can climb up a dinosaur, jump between skyscrapers, tackle a tetris wall, or try balancing on spinning gear obstacles. For extra challenges, each climb has a star rating, or kids can try building their own climbing wall in the Crate Challenge.

The Drop Slide and Giant Jump (where kids leap toward a trapeze bar or punching bag) were definite highlights!

Dungeons & Dragons: An Immersive Quest

If your kids are into fantasy (think: dragons, magic, wizards that sort of thing), they’ll love Dungeons & Dragons: The Immersive Quest. This interactive experience at Square One is only on until March 16th so make sure to take advantage of the final weeks! No familiarity with DND is necessary - it's beginner-friendly and fun for anyone, whether you’re a die-hard fantasy fan or have never even heard of Dungeons and Dragons.

The experience takes you through five rooms across 15,000 square feet of space. You'll start by choosing your character (my 6-year-old was thrilled to be a wizard), then journey through:

  • The legendary Yawning Portal tavern featuring immersive theatre and storytelling

  • A mysterious dungeon filled with interactive challenges where you’ll earn points

  • A fun “fight” against a dragon on a multimedia AR screen

After the main adventure, there’s a cool little marketplace where you can buy D&D merchandise as well as themed snacks and drinks. Don’t miss the mocktails - the Dragon’s Breath drink comes with a smoke-filled bubble on top and will be a huge hit with kids.

Planet Splatter

One of the most unique activities to do in Mississauga with kids is Planet Splatter! This paint splatter experience is a must-do. It's basically a room where you just let loose, make a mess and splat away on any wall, person or object. The whole space is also illuminated with UV lighting, making every splash of paint glow with amazing fluorescent effects. Ages 5+ only!

The variety of paint tools makes it extra fun. There's a selfie cannon perfect for capturing colorful action shots, and for the adventurous, a dunk tank where you can sit under a bucket of paint that dumps right over your head. Before your session starts, you'll pick your paint colors, which look incredible under the blacklights.

They provide protective glasses (mandatory), plus optional ponchos and shoe covers. Even with the covers, wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting paint on. While the paint is washable, it's best to be cautious with your clothing choices.

Sessions run 40 minutes, and the Family Package (for 4 people) includes paint brushes, slings, bombs, blasters, and 20 bottles of paint. There's a changing room with lockers for your belongings, which you'll definitely want to use.

Kidsapia Indoor Playground - Perfect for Younger Kids

Located in the same building as Cineplex Junxion (super convenient!), the newly renovated Kidsapia is ideal for younger children. The playground features an innovative Japanese soft play system with moving structures that both of my kids really enjoyed. Here’s what else makes it stand out:

  • It’s super clean and well-maintained

  • Fully gated space for safety (no escape artists!)

  • Comfortable parent seating with clear views of the play area

  • Perfect size for younger children to explore safely

💡 Important note: Kidsapia indoor playground is strictly for younger kids under 130cm /52 inches tall

Funday! Indoor Playground

This brand-new indoor playground recreates Toronto's iconic landmarks in kid-sized form. The attention to detail at Funday! Indoor Playground is impressive, from the CN Tower climbing structure to the SkyDome sports zone (you know you’ve come to the right place when it’s called “SkyDome” - if you know, you know). There's also:

  • A massive and safe climbing structure with light-up slides, a ball pit with an interactive air drop system, a mini trampoline and rock wall

  • “Funco” (aka Costco) grocery store and kitchen

  • A really cool tech-space upstairs with an interactive drawing screen

  • Condo play space with a kitchen and bedroom with dress up costumes, a makeup area and baby dolls

  • Soft play toddler area under the CN Tower

  • Mini arcade games and kiddie rides

Parents can hang out in the comfortable TTC subway car seating area while enjoying coffee and snacks from the cafe. This is one of the cleanest, thoughtfully designed and unique indoor playgrounds we’ve been to. Highly recommend a visit!

Cineplex Junxion at Erin Mills – The Ultimate Movie Theatre

If you’re heading to Mississauga for a family movie night , this is where you want to be. Cineplex Junxion at Erin Mills is not your average movie theatre —it’s got full reclining seats (you heard me!!), an arcade , and an upgraded food menu that goes beyond popcorn.

The kids Mini Combo is cute and actually worth getting. It features:

  • a child-sized popcorn

  • drink in a special themed cup

  • bag of Jolly Rancher gummies

  • and a Big Screen Buddy toy

Parents will appreciate the free refills on large popcorn orders and kids will love the high-tech self-serve drink machines with a ton of flavors and options to choose from.

We watched Dog Man at 4:30 PM , and I can confirm—the fully reclining seats make this one of the most comfortable movie experiences ever. Game changer for family movie time, especially if you've got a little one who usually ends up in your lap!

The kids had a blast in the massive arcade before and after the show, playing everything from claw machines to racing games. Our favourite was the life size Hungry Hungry Hippo ride-on game.

Also, for parents who enjoy a drink with their movie, the facility is fully licensed with a comfortable lounge area – you can have a drink in the auditoriums or games floor!

GlowZone 360 - Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Putt Golf

For a unique indoor experience, GlowZone 360 is a must-visit . The glow-in-the-dark mini golf course is super fun and totally different from traditional mini putt —think neon obstacles, blacklights, and glowing walls! There are 18 themed holes that take about 30-45 minutes to complete. The course offers enough challenges to keep older kids engaged while remaining fun for younger players.

In addition to mini golf , they have a laser tag arena and an arcade , so there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained.

Parent Tip: Have everyone wear neon or white —you’ll glow under the blacklights , and the kids will think it’s the coolest thing ever.

SkyZone Trampoline Park

If you need to let the kids loose, SkyZone Trampoline Park is the spot! More than just trampolines, it has a foam pit, dodgeball courts, and a ninja warrior-style obstacle course—perfect for kids who love a challenge. While bigger kids can practice their slam-dunks and ninja warrior skills, younger jumpers can also safely bounce and play in the special Toddler Zone.

Note for first-timers: You'll need to grab some SkySocks ($3.99 per pair) when you arrive. These special grip socks are required for safety, but the good news is you can keep them for future visits. They come in all sizes, so everyone from toddlers to adults will be covered.

If you've got little ones, you'll also want to know about the Little Leapers program. Children 6 & under get a discounted Standard (90 min) Pass every Monday-Friday, from open-noon. The best part is that one parent jumps free with each paid child, making it a fun activity to do together. Just make sure you book your tickets online in advance because the last discounted ticket is for the 10:30 AM - noon session). During these times, you'll have access to all the trampolines, foam pits, and play areas, but with smaller crowds that are perfect for young jumpers.

Thanks to Visit Mississauga for sponsoring this fun-filled adventure! While this post is sponsored, all opinions (and kid-tested recommendations!) are 100% my own.
