Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue in Mississauga

If your kids are anything like mine, Minecraft has completely taken over your household. We’ve officially entered the “everything reminds me of Minecraft” phase. So I decided to lean into it and create a Minecraft-inspired itinerary around the new Minecraft Experience Toronto: Villager Rescue that just opened in Mississauga. If you're looking for fun things to do with kids near Toronto, this Minecraft day is just a short drive from the city and brings the game to life with a bunch of fun and creative stops.

Grab your Minecraft Travel Kit

If you’re planning this as a surprise day out, grab one of my Minecraft Travel Kit pouches before you go. It’s packed with Minecraft themed stickers, magnetic blocks, toys, and easy activities - perfect for car rides, lunch stops, or just kicking things off with a fun surprise. It also makes a great gift if you’re pulling this together as a birthday outing.

Here's how to plan your Minecraft themed day in Mississauga

Minecraft Experience Toronto: Villager Rescue

If your kids have ever said “I wish I could go inside Minecraft,” this is the place. Minecraft Experience Toronto is a massive 15,000 square foot immersive exhibit that’s set up just outside Square One mall in Mississauga, just a short drive from Toronto. It’s the first time this global touring experience has come to Canada, and Mississauga is the only Canadian stop this summer.

The storyline at Minecraft Experience Toronto is simple and fun: your village has been taken over by zombies, and your job is to rescue it. As you move through seven themed zones, you’ll use an “Orb of Interaction” to collect items, solve Redstone puzzles, craft tools, trigger lighting and sound effects, and even battle classic Minecraft mobs like skeletons, spiders, and creepers. There’s a cave filled with glowing blocks, a forest biome with pandas and dolphins, and a final showdown to take back the village.

Kids can build, craft, and interact with the environment throughout, and you don’t need any Minecraft knowledge to enjoy it. It’s designed for ages 6+, but younger siblings will still have a blast walking through all the glowing pixel worlds and interacting with the immersive exhibit.

My 6 year old son was SO happy and his only complaint was that 60 minute experience was too short and he wanted to stay all day.

Worth noting is that the Minecraft Experience Toronto ends at the Minecraft Trading Post, which is basically the ultimate gift shop for limited edition Minecraft merch and plush toys. Make sure you budget for this in advance or have a talk with your kids ahead of time to set expectations.

Lava Chicken at THG's Hot Chicken

Next stop on the Minecraft-inspired itinerary of Mississauga is THG’s Hot Chicken where you can have a real-life Steve’s Lava Chicken moment. If you’ve seen the Minecraft movie, you’ll get the reference, and if not, just know this spot is perfect for a fun themed lunch. The vibe is fun, colourful, and casual, with counter-service seating and some of the best hot chicken sandwiches in the GTA. You can go mild or turn up the heat if you’re feeling brave. There are also kid-friendly options if your little miner isn’t into spice - I highly recommend the chicken tenders!

Air Riderz: Real-Life Minecraft Parkour

If your kids are into Minecraft parkour videos or spend half their game time leaping between platforms, they’re going to lose it at Air Riderz trampoline park. (And if you’re not sure what Minecraft parkour is, it’s basically an obstacle course in the game where players have to jump, balance, and climb their way through floating blocks without falling. Think ninja warrior, but pixelated.)

Air Raiderz is pretty much a real-world version of that. This trampoline park is one of the best things to do with kids in Mississauga and has so many unique features, from scaling walls to battling on beams, every area feels like it could be part of a Minecraft adventure map. There’s even an interactive video game that lets kids jump to control their character on a giant screen (my son's favourite!)

Here’s what to expect at Air Raiderz Mississauga:

  • Interactive Gaming Jump: jump to move your avatar and earn points on a massive screen
  • Stunt Bag: leap off platforms into a giant cushion, kind of like jumping from a cliff in Minecraft (except no hearts lost here)
  • Battle Beam: challenge a friend to stay balanced while trying to knock each other off (like a Minecraft face-off, minus the weapons)
  • Climb Zone: climb walls and structures that look straight out of a creative build

For younger kids, there’s a separate Toddler Zone with soft play and small trampolines. Anyone under 5 has to stick to that area for safety, and all jumpers need Air Raiderz specific grip socks (available for purchase at the front desk).

GG! Gaming Café for Board Games + Potion Drinks

After a high-energy morning at Minecraft Experience Toronto and Air Riderz trampoline park, GG! Gaming Café is the perfect place to slow down and reconnect. While not a kid-specific space, but the vibe is warm, quirky, and welcoming with packed shelves of colourful board games, cozy tables, and manga playing on the TVs in the background.

There are tons of family-friendly board games to choose from for all ages. You’ll find blocky, Minecraft-style options like Blokus and Jenga, silly speed games like Ghost Blitz and Eye Found It, and kid-friendly faves like Spot It , Guess Who, and Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.

The drink menu is a standout. There are vibrant iced tea lemonades in flavours like Ultraviolet, Blue Lagoon, and Peach Mango that totally give off Minecraft potion vibes. You’ll also find milkshakes (including Ube and Mango), an ice-blended strawberry lemonade, and plenty of coffee options for parents. Drinks can also be customized with fun add-ons like popping boba (my kids fave!), lychee jelly, or whipped cream.

We didn’t try the food this time, but the menu includes things like chicken sandwiches, fries, and other casual eats if you’re looking for a full meal stop.

It’s a fun, low-key reset before heading out for your final adventure.

Jaycee Park: A Minecraft-Looking Playground

To wrap up your Minecraft-themed day, Jaycee Park Playground is a great outdoor stop for some fresh air. This playground isn’t your typical setup. It looks like something your kids might build in Creative Mode.

Designed by Earthscape Play, the structures mimic Mississauga’s skyline, including the twisty Monroe towers and the red clock tower from City Hall. The black-and-yellow blocky elements give it a distinctly Minecraft-y feel, and there are tons of spots to climb, jump, and explore.

There’s a built-in trampoline, soft rubber surfacing, and open sightlines so parents can actually sit down while the kids run arund. It’s also fully accessible, which makes it an easy choice for all ages.
